Learning Outcomes for a Business Information Systems Undergraduate Program
Description
The School of Information Systems (SIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) developed a set of learning outcomes to guide the ongoing design of their business information systems undergraduate programme. The School is using the learning outcomes as a way to design and integrate an innovative curriculum. This paper details the process of developing this set of learning outcomes, and explains how they are used within the context of the undergraduate degree programme. To build a shared understanding of the learning outcomes and their importance in curriculum design for both students and faculty, SIS built a learning outcomes management system (LOMS).
This paper also describes the design of the
LOMS and the benefits of this information system for the school, faculty, students and employers.
